Happy Full Moon & Equinox Magic from Bali beautiful,

How are you?

I’m transitioning from Thailand to Bali, and just sitting in a place of awe, wonder and gratitude.

It’s amazing how quickly everything can suddenly seem to change.

One minute, I’m full power in our beautiful teacher training in Thailand, and the next minute I’m in Bali, rehearsing for Bali Spirit Festival, which starts this weekend.

This year at the festival, I’ll be sharing mantra and music on stage for my first time ever going on a stage as a solo project.

I’m feeling all of my shadow self rising….

I’m feeling self-conscious, nervous, apprehensive, self-doubt…

all the things really.

What if I’m not ….enough?

What if they don’t like me? What if I fail? What if I get too nervous or haven’t practiced enough? What if I forget all the words or chords to the songs? Why am I even doing this anyway?

Today, I want to dedicate our love and inspirations here to courage.

Did you know that the root of the word courage is cor – the Latin word for heart?

Somewhere along the lines, when I said “I do” to Yoga, I committed myself to a life-long journey of showing up to discomfort, fear, evolution and change.

I’ve made myself a promise to develop courage, an open heart, to keep showing up to my fears, my tears, my edges, my comfort zones, to keep working towards an opening my heart, especially in the face of fear.

Not always easy, but always worth it.

So my plan, my prescription for courage:

  1. Prepare as best as possible for that which we are summoning courage for.
  2. Know that we will likely feel challenged/self-doubt
  3. Accept that we may not be perfect and trust that that’s okay, and ultimately
  4. Surrender to whatever happens, and trust…

    Wish me luck/courage!

When was the last time you summoned the courage to move out of your comfort zone and into the magic? How did you feel before & after?

I’d LOVE to hear from you

Here are some fresh inspirations for your weekend ahead!

Book:

Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead by Brene Brown

I love this book. It almost feels like an essential read to help us embrace worthiness and open-heartedness and to better navigate the paradoxes of courage: that we become strong by embracing vulnerability, how we dare more greatly when we acknowledge our fear.

Ted Talk:

The Power of Vulnerability | Brené Brown

Classic ted talk. Also Brene Brown. Such good insight and reminders.

Brené Brown studies human connection — our ability to empathize, belong, love. In a poignant, funny talk at TEDxHouston, she shares a deep insight from her research, one that sent her on a personal quest to know herself as well as to understand humanity. A talk to share.

Oracle Card:

“Courage” – From the Osho Zen Tarot

This is one of my favourite of the Osho Zen tarot cards:

“The seed cannot know what is going to happen, the seed has never known the flower. And the seed cannot even believe that he has the potentiality to become a beautiful flower. Long is the journey, and it is always safer not to go on that journey because unknown is the path, nothing is guaranteed.

Nothing can be guaranteed. Thousand and one are the hazards of the journey, many are the pitfalls–and the seed is secure, hidden inside a hard core. But the seed tries, it makes an effort; it drops the hard shell which is its security, it starts moving.

Immediately the fight starts: the struggle with the soil, with the stones, with the rocks. And the seed was very hard and the sprout will be very, very soft and dangers will be many. There was no danger for the seed, the seed could have survived for millennia, but for the sprout many are the dangers. But the sprout starts towards the unknown, towards the sun, towards the source of light, not knowing where, not knowing why.

Great is the cross to be carried, but a dream possesses the seed and the seed moves. The same is the path for man. It is arduous. Much courage will be needed”. – Osho Dang Dang Doko Dang, Chapter 4
