Song, Sound & Sacred Space-Holding
For anyone ready to deepen their relationship with their own voice, come into their fullest expression, and share song and sound as medicine in safe and sacred ways.
Your voice is the most powerful sound healing instrument there is, and you already carry it. These five days teach you how to use it fully, and how to hold that experience for other people.
This training blends vocal activation, trauma-informed facilitation, song transmission, and group leadership skills, so you can hold vocal and sound work in your own rooms with real skill and reverence. Five days at The Yoga Barn in Ubud. Some people come already holding rooms and wanting to hold them better. Some come for their own voice first, and leave with the skill to hold a room when they are ready. You are welcome either way.
A short glimpse of the songs, sound, and shared presence at the heart of this training.
For many people on the spiritual path, growth has meant collecting peak experiences: ceremonies, retreats, trainings. But the real medicine lives somewhere older and simpler, in the ancient technology of circle and communal singing, and in the voice itself, the most powerful sound healing instrument there is. This training uses that technology to bridge heart and mind, to choose authenticity over attachment, and to heal the wound of not feeling worthy to be seen and heard.
Francie is a voice healer, somatic guide, bhakti musician, yoga teacher, and retreat leader with 15+ years of experience creating spaces where real transformation happens, for herself and for the people she trains.
She is the creator of the Vocal Flow Method, a synthesis of somatic trauma integration, yoga and bhakti philosophy, and flow psychology. She teaches weekly at The Yoga Barn in Ubud and has led over 200 retreats and trainings.
This is the first time she is training facilitators directly in how to hold this work, not just how to receive it.
Guest facilitators join us through the week, each bringing a lineage of their own into the room.
Ritual Sound & Mantra
Haylee opens ritual space by grounding the body, settling the nervous system and using toning to clear what is held. She works with nada yoga, mantra and classical Indian singing technique, circular melodies, raga and songs in languages from around the world, alongside live instruments and playful harmony. A sacred exploration of your own sound rather than a singing lesson, and every level is welcome.
Creative Expression & Alchemy
Freestyle, improvisation and channelling the moment, woven together with ritual and energetic practice. This is the play and the fire of the week, where the voice stops being something you manage and starts being something you follow. Announced soon.
Yogis, teachers, creatives, and space-holders: if you already hold space for others, this is where you learn to hold sound too.
Not sure you’re ready for the full five-day training yet? Start by leading one circle. The free Vocal Flow Circle Blueprint gives you a complete 60-minute structure, two warm-ups, a heart song, and the essentials for holding sacred space.
Get the free Circle Blueprint →This training is not a technique or a script. It’s five interwoven skill sets that let you facilitate vocal and somatic work with real competence, real care, and real depth.
Vocal care, projection, range, resonance, and harmony. Building the physical foundation and confidence to use your voice fully, and to guide others in using theirs.
Teaching songs clearly, leading call-and-response, and holding rhythm and pitch for a group. The practical craft of passing a song from your voice into a room.
Trauma-informed presence, group dynamics, attunement, and ritual. How to read a room, hold what surfaces, and create a container people can trust.
Movement, nervous system tools, and emotional regulation. Working with the body first, so your facilitation is grounded in real physiology, not just intuition.
Improvisation, play, storytelling, and authentic presence. Trusting your own voice enough to lead from it, unscripted.
As part of this pillar, you’ll explore ten sacred archetypes from the bhakti and kirtan devotional tradition, and how to weave their energy and stories into your teaching, from kirtan to creative expression work.
Three short teachings from a vocal activation retreat training, so you can feel how this work actually moves before you give it five days.
Each of the five days follows a similar rhythm, held loosely enough to breathe and adjust as the group needs. This is the shape the days are built around.
Vocal Flow and embodied movement, opening the body and voice for the day ahead.
Time to integrate and settle in before the group work continues.
Group practice in leading songs, call-and-response, rhythm, and pitch.
A real break, built into every day.
Holding space, storytelling, and group dynamics in practice.
Closing the day’s work through ceremony, circle, or creative expression.
One evening midweek we gather for a song circle, about 90 minutes. Every other evening is yours, open for rest, connection, or singing on if you want to.
Everything you need to hold vocal and somatic work in your own rooms, with real understanding underneath it.
Real vocal skill: care, projection, range, and resonance, so you lead from a strong instrument, not strain.
A practical toolkit for teaching songs, leading call-and-response, and holding rhythm and pitch for a group.
Direct practice holding real moments in the room, through teach-backs and guided scenarios, not just theory.
A grounding in bhakti and kirtan lineage and nervous system tools, so your facilitation carries both skill and reverence.
40 hours across the five training days, plus an evening song circle, plus the 8.5 hour Integration & Practice Lab afterwards, where you lead your own circle with the group behind you. A completion certificate, YACEP-eligible for Yoga Alliance continuing education. A clear next step as a facilitator.
The HeartSongs Vocal Activation Songbook, plus lifetime access to the Vocal Flow Practice Library, a growing collection of 60-minute recorded classes, so you stay inspired and connected to the work long after the training ends.
Francie teaches weekly at The Yoga Barn, one of Ubud’s most established yoga centers. This training happens in that same lineage of teaching, on the same island, in the same devotional current.

Most facilitators who do this work well started before they felt fully ready. What they had instead was a real foundation, a room to practice in, and someone further down the path holding them while they found their footing. That is what these five days are for.
If you already hold space for others and feel the pull toward this work, that pull is the only qualification you need to apply.

Not sure yet
You don’t have to decide about November today. The Circle Blueprint is the whole arc of a 60 minute voice circle: the warm ups, a heart song to share, and what actually makes a room feel safe enough to sing in. It’s free, and it’s enough to go and lead your first one this month.
You already know how to hold a room. This just hands you the shape of the singing part. Leave your name and I’ll send it straight over. And if November turns out not to be your window, you’ll hear about the next training first.
Do I need to be a certified yoga teacher to apply?
No formal certification is required. Many people arrive already holding space in some capacity, as a yoga teacher, coach, healer, therapist, or voice worker, and the training builds on the facilitation experience they have. If you are coming mainly to deepen your own voice, you are welcome too, and you will leave with the skills ready for whenever you want them.
How is this different from Francie’s retreats or Rising Resonance?
Francie’s retreats and the Rising Resonance mentorship are built for your own transformation. This training is built to teach you how to hold that transformation for someone else. It’s practitioner-facing, skills-based, and focused on facilitation, not personal breakthrough.
Will I receive a certificate?
Yes. You’ll leave with a 50-Hour Vocal Flow Certificate: 40 contact hours earned during the five in-person days, plus 10 hours of self-study. It’s YACEP-eligible for Yoga Alliance continuing education, along with clear next steps for bringing this work into your own practice.
What if I’ve never facilitated vocal or sound work specifically?
That’s expected, and part of why this training exists. What matters is that you already hold space for others in some form. The vocal and sound-specific skills are exactly what these five days teach.
Is there a limit on group size?
Yes. This training is intentionally kept small so every participant gets real practice time and real feedback during the practicum.
What is the investment, and what does it include?
Pricing rises in three tiers as the training gets closer: Super Early Bird at $600 USD through September 1, 2026, Early Bird at $700 USD through October 15, 2026, and Regular Tuition at $800 USD from October 16 through the training dates. Every tier includes the full five days of training at The Yoga Barn, the complete five-pillar curriculum, guided practicum and teach-backs, and your 50-Hour Vocal Flow Certificate. Travel and accommodation in Ubud are arranged separately.
Do I need to play an instrument, or will I learn one?
No instrument is needed. This work is voice-led, and everything you learn to hold rests on the voice rather than on accompaniment. If you already play something like a harmonium, guitar, or drum, bring it and there will be space to use it. If you do not play anything, you will never be at a disadvantage in this room.
Do I need to be a good singer?
No, and this is the question I get most. This is not about performance or a beautiful voice. It is about resonance, presence, and being willing to make sound. Some of the most powerful facilitators I know came in convinced they could not sing.
What if I want this for myself and I am not sure I will ever teach it?
That is a completely valid reason to come. Learning to hold this work for other people is one of the fastest ways to deepen it in yourself, because you have to understand why it works, not just feel that it does. Come for your own voice, and take the facilitation skills with you either way.
Where do I stay, and are meals included?
Travel, accommodation, and meals are arranged separately, so you are free to choose what suits you. Ubud has options at every budget within walking or short-scooter distance of The Yoga Barn, and there is a real lunch break built into every day. Email me if you would like suggestions.
What if I can’t attend all five days?
This training is built as a single connected arc, each day builds on the last, so full attendance is expected. If your dates change before November, reach out and we’ll figure it out together.
You already hold space.
Now hold this.
Five days. Real skill. Real lineage. A room full of people ready to carry this work forward with you.
